The Best Lipsticks For Your Matte Fix

True, I don't know you, but I do know you have launched the lip trend to end all lip trends: Matte Lipstick! So today I bring you my picks for Spring!!!!

This is only Spice lip liner from MAC with a touch of Estée Lauder lip conditioner. This is actually my go to look for the last 20 years. There's a reason Spice is legendary.

For this look I used Whirl lip pencil from MAC and used MAC's Brave on top. It's the perfect pinky beige.

Here we go again with MAC's Spice liner used with MACS Velvet Teddy lipstick. This lipstick was a blind buy, the swatch on line was not cute and nothing like it ended up looking. I can honestly say this is my Holy Grail nude lip combo.

This look takes me back to the mid 90's: brown matte lipstick. The difference is my lips don't look like craisons. The liner and lipstick are both from my new fave artist/brand: Charlotte Tilbury. The liner is Hollywood Honey and the lipstick is Bond Girl. In love!

This lipstick is called Schiap and is from NARS. Instead of finding a lip liner that would match perfectly I actually just used a lip brush and created a lip liner from the lipstick itself and then filled in the rest with the lipstick. This is a great trick to use when you're wearing something bright like this or a red lipstick you don't have to worry about ending up with a crazy combination of colors that you did not intend. The only time I amend this rule, is when I use an extremely light nude liner like almost the exact color of your skin and that will just lock in the lipstick a little bit longer. The only problem like I discussed before, you do run the risk of making the color of lipstick, so do what you will with the advice.

Same trick, different lipstick I love a beautiful true red matte lipstick and I found one in Heat Wave Ruby from my fave up and coming brand: Teez Cosmetics. The one thing that set this lipstick apart from other matte lipsticks I tried was there was actual moisture locked and loaded. It was like my lips actually had a nice light coating of lip conditioner underneath while keeping the look matte and not glossy! Definitely a big thumbs up! I love Teez Cosmetics and I am just on tenterhooks waiting for more products!!!!

My homage to Mrs.Valentino aka Natacha Rambova. This is my NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Train Bleu. I assure you it is not blue! This is the ultimate that color that fills all of my amazing vampire, mystery, sexy, 1920's goddess fantasy.
