Borghese Spa Mani Gloves. Yes. This is a glove review.

Ever since the beginning of my career as a makeup artist, I've been in love with Borghese. They are the makers of my beloved Fango, don't cha know, so of course I had to try the gloves.

This is what Borghese says about the gloves:
"At last, breakthrough polymer technology that allow your hands to hold onto hydration. Dry, dehydrated skin is infused with protective emollients and instantly relieved. Olive, Jojoba and Grape Seed Oils deliver intense moisturization. Ceramide 3 helps maintain skin’s natural, protective lipid barrier. Skin is left revitalized, smooth and touchably, totally-soft."

I've actually used these gloves before but truth be told, it's been a few years. I really wanted to try them out again considering how dry my hands have gotten since having my daughter. Yes ladies, if you plan to give birth, things like this will happen to you too! Hormones are a bitch.

How I used these
Time frame: half hour for 1st use and overnight for 2nd use.
Additional products: No creams or lotion were used with the gloves.
No shit helpful hints: Make sure your hands are clean before using these. Sigh. You'd be surprised. And try to keep these gloves clean because washing them will break down the lining of the gloves.

First of all let's talk about the scent. It is aromatherapy at its best. With  the scent of geranium, peppermint and lavender, it is the calming scent of a lot of Borghese products. Even if you're one of those of fragrance free club you're definitely going to love these babies as they're only lightly scentedI only bring this up because I've got the nose of a bloodhound. Truly. I can smell a cat break wind in Fort Lauderdale.

I first used these for only a half hour. These are not smart phone friendly gloves btw. I was planning on using them for an hour but I started getting emails that I had to respond to. Blah blah blah. Anyway even after only a half hour I was extremely pleased and kind of shocked at how good my hands looked and felt.
Now as crazy and impractical as it sounds, they recommend wearing these overnight. Just do it. Trust me. Not only will you wake up with your hands looking and feeling hydrated, smooth and soft, but you'll be able to entertain your insomnia stricken loved ones with an awesome mime routine. Not that I'd know.

In one day, I don't even know how often I'm reaching for a lotion or cream for my hands, but normally it's a lot. All day after using the gloves, my hands looked amazing and I only had to use my hand cream once that day. Keep in mind, my hands are really dry, practically like two prunes with raisins for fingers.
You can use a hand cream or lotion with these, in fact, Borghese makes products that can be used with the gloves but I didn't use anything with them.
I'm thrilled with these gloves and trust me, that's a phrase that I NEVER imagined using. I really cannot recommend these more. Trust me, I get that it's a luxury to use special gloves like these but if you're a mom or just someone who can't do weekly salon manicures, it's a small luxury that will pay for itself in the long run. These are great to give as gifts too, everyone can use these. They also make socks too. Oh yes and they're just as fab!
