Wear Red Lipstick! Yes, YOU!!

There is nothing more chic than a woman wearing red lipstick. It's also the best way to look made up when you're too lazy or in a hurry and can't make time for full glam.
If you've been told you can't wear red lipstick or have been to afraid, I've got you. And red heads, you are included too!!!
If you want "rules", I won't give any, but I can give you a cheat sheet if you're a beginner to red lipstick and a bit scared to wear it.
Oh yeah, I also found some dupes if you aren't ready to spend the big bucks for the good stuff ;) Some like Chanel and Urban Decay, however, were unduplicated. Sowwy!

Top row, left to right: NARS Dragon Girl, MAC Lady Danger, MAC Russian Red.
Bottom row, left to right: Chanel Pirate, Urban Decay F-Bomb, NARS Scarlet Empress.

A great look for fair skin tones, is a bright red with a blue undertone. Think raspberry red as opposed to tomato red.

Lust: NARS Velvet Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl
Must: Wet N Wild lipstick in Cherry Picking

For light to medium skin, coral reds or reds with a warm tomato red tone are gorgeous and really compliment the skin!
Lust: MAC lipstick in Lady Danger
Must: WET N WILD lipstick in Perty Persimmon

For tanned golden skin, brick red really finishes the look! Think chocolate cherry red!
Lust: MAC lipstick in Russian Red
Must: WET N WILD lipstick in Stoplight Red

If you have olive skin, try a bright red. A darker raspberry red would be beautiful.
Lust: Chanel Rouge Allure in Pirate

For my mocha skin friends, try a bright, true red.
Lust: Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in F-Bomb

If you have beautiful, deep chocolate skin try a purple red. This really stands out in a bold and chic way.
Lust: NARS lipstick Scarlet Empress
Must: Wet N Wild lipstick in Cherry Bomb

From top to bottom: Dior Rock N Roll, NARS Velvet Lip Pencil in Cruella and Shiseido lipstick in Day Lily

And for my red head beauties, I made a category just for you! I trotted my butt down to Sephora and snapped these up last summer in anticipation of writing this post. I tried them on a few models last summer and these were the winners.
For a sheer and sparkly red: Rock N Roll- Dior Addict
For a bold bright red: Cruella- Nars velvet lip pencil
For a coral red: Day Lily- Shiseido Perfect Rouge

The best secret to choosing a red lipstick is confidence. It's like wearing heels, if you have your strut on, everyone will notice and want your swag.
If we are talking about choosing a red that's right for you, I always tell people to go what grabs your eye, even if it looks scary in the tube. Nothing makes me angrier when women tell me they've been told they can't wear certain colors. Bull. You can!
Make your first resolution to find and rock your perfect red lip! You'll thank me.

XOXO MissLadyMo
