Strong Brows and Full Lips: Launch A Fashion Show!!!

This week Eugene's hottest models strutted their stuff in designer duds, licensed to thrill!!! For the gorgeous clothing, colors like brilliant blues, deep reds, classic black and chic nudes, made a statement on the runway.
I got to really work one of the most timeless looks ever: the defined, strong brow and a painted, full lip in plums and reds. The fun part is that each model wore the same eyeshadow and on each model, it was a show stopper!!!

My lovely first model already had the gorgeous full brow, so not much filling in was needed. I decided to start with the brows because that would set the pace for the rest of the look. If you start with wear the attention is being drawn to the most, you won't go overboard on the other areas.
For the brows, I used Chella's Beautiful Blonde automatic eye brow pencil. This is a very creamy, fine tipped, roll up brow pencil that really allows for precise application. I really like it's slim design and light weight feel. The color pay off is great! Very little pressure is needed to get accurate color and fills in the brows with a supernatural touch.
For all the eyeshadow looks, I used my Bare Minerals Star Treatment palette over Chella's Ivory Lace brow highlighter . This highlighter works well as a shadow base and you get creaseless wear throughout the day.
The Star Treatment palette houses 8 shimmery neutral shades that can be used by themself or as accent and defining shades.
For this particular look, I used "Extravagance" on the lid and accent the gold shadow with "Connoisseur", a rich dark copper, in the crease and brushed in upper and lower lashes. For eyeliner, I used Xtreme Lashes black liner pencil and set it with VIP shadow, from the palette.
After dressing up brows and eyes, it's time for some face! Dr. Jart BB Cream in Ivory was used all over the face to even out her complexion and give a bright glow. Under eyes I used Benefit's Fake Up. Fake Up is damn close to being my a Holy Grail concealer! I really love that you get great coverage, beautiful pigment and a moisturizing center that soothes and hydrates. The combo of this bb cream and concealer is really a perfect ten, that truly makes the skin so beautiful, that little else is really needed to give the skin a boost!
Because the lips and the brows are the highlight, I really wanted to keep the face very simple. I dusted the t-zone with MAC's Beauty Powder in Forever Marilyn and applied the colorful Hervana from Benefit to the tops of the cheek bones and a touch to the temples.
When it comes to lips, I like to line lips with a nude liner, even when using a red lipstick. I used MAC's Spice to line the lips, slightly filling in the center of the bottom lip.
For the bold, bright lip, Chanel was the ultimate choice! I didn't want a lot of gloss on the lip but I didn't want a bone dry matte either. I chose Palpitante, a gorgeous true red. It is more on the warm side but isn't so warm that it throws the whole look off.
I always like to finish with lashes and as always, my favorite mascara, Benefit's They're Real mascara curls lashes, making them appear longer and fuller. I like to comb the top of the lashes out and looking at the photos, I should've really done an extra coat. It's the perfectionist Virgo in me!
After combing the tops of the lashes, I like to dress up the rest of the top lash and only apply the lightest touch on the lower lash line. This helps to really give the eyes a brighter look.
Tip: whenever I use a dark lip color, I like to use a lip brush that is a smaller, flat brush with a slight taper. Shiseido has the perfect lip brush that will literally last you forever!!!!

My darling Natalie was my second model. I've been so lucky that I've been able to work with some of the most beautiful models around and it's so exciting for me to actually have a line of them waiting for ME to do their makeup.
Natalie was one of those models and I just adore painting her face.
The colors I used on her were virtually the same as the rest of the models. There are a few exceptions. For eyeshadow, I just used the coppery bronze of "Connoisseur" all over lid and into the crease. No second color needed.
For brows, I used Chella's Auburn pencil. This is a perfect match to her red locks and really polishes up her face, framing the eyes effortlessly.
For the lips I mixed a couple products to create the prettiest lip. I used Josie Maran's Flamenco lip stain. I love this color, a raspberry red that truly has staying power. The best part? No liner needed!
On top of Flamenco, using my trusty Shiseido brush, I slicked a coat of Chanel's Rivoli, almost a deep plum red on to the lips.
This combined look really is so glamorous on Natalie's porcelain skin, but also great with her amazing deep red auburn hair!

My 3rd model is also a return visitor to my chair! Amelina aka Emmy, is an artist and photographers dream. She's got a great full brow, huge eyes and full lips. Her bone structure is delicate and makes any color applied to her, a true masterpiece.
Again, not many changes were made to this look. The brows were filled in and groomed with a dark brown brow pencil from Chella. For shadow I used only the gold from that Star Treatment palette, "Extravagance". For lips I switched things up a bit and applied Chanel's "Rivoli" all over the lip and applied Urban Decay's "F-Bomb" in the center of the lower lip. This really gives her gorgeous lips more of a perfect pout and makes the lower lip look even fuller! Score!

My 4th model, Jessica, gave me a challenge that was exciting! She has very fair skin and no eyebrows, so she needed both brows to be created. I used a Chella brow pencil, the blonde shade to sketch and sculpt the perfect brow. I'm truly impressed with my skillz ;)
I went with a softer shadow, MAC's "Woodwinked", a touch lighter than Bare Mineral's "Connoisseur" but in the same bronze zone. This was used all over the lid and slightly under the lower lash line. Her designer wanted a softer "Celtic" look, which neither of us really knew what that was. So she wouldn't stick out, I just did a lighter version of what the other models had.
For lips, instead of a deep red, I went for NARS' "Gypsy", a sheer berry. This is such a pretty color for women that really have that light complexion and hair combo. It looks bold but doesn't overtake the face. It looks so chic and polished.

My gorgeous pal, Tony, is a joy to work with. Along with Natalie and Emmy, she has worked with me before and waits for me to do her makeup! Such a doll!
For her makeup I used the same colors on her as I did my first model, the only exception? Lips, cheeks and eyeliner.
In choosing eyeliner, I used Be A Bombshell's felt tip liner in "Onyx" to create a cat eye. Cat eyes look fierce with any look!
Because she wanted a subtle lip like Jessica, I chose a softer yet still bright combination. Be A Bombshell's Sweet Cheeks blush works with pretty much every lip color, except maybe a deep, vampy plum. Gypsy from NARS, was what I selected for Tony's lips. Again this sheer berry looks so polished, bright yet still delicate.
I really love how Tony rocked this look!

Casey was my last model. She has seen the other looks I created and was hoping that I'd get to paint her face! I'm telling you, the feeling I get when someone tells me that, is a feeling I never want to lose! I literally feel over the moon!
Casey gives me this gorgeous Dita Von Tease look and that was what ultimately steered me in the direction I took with her makeup. Her skin was perfect and I really appreciate that she uses a full skincare regimen. Like I've always said, the better shape your skin is in, the less coverage you will need. Dr. Jart's BB Cream over Clarins Beauty Flash Balm was enough to make her skin look luxurious.
I used the same colors on her as I did with Natalie, except with the lipstick, I only used MAC's Spice liner and Chanel's Rivoli lipstick.
This fashion show was so much fun and I cannot wait for Fashion Week this spring! I am truly lucky to be apart of such a creative team of artists, designers and models!
