I decided to try this look myself but with a couple different products and also featuring a day time take on this look, as seen on Marlohe at the premier of Skyfall. I'm not pretending to be Michelle Phan or Ms. Marlohe, but if you squint......
We're gonna start with the daytime look first and afterwards, with addition of some deeper tones, we will have created the evening take on this look.
For the day look, I like light coverage for the face. Instead of a foundation, I am using Chanel's Hydramax Tinted Moisturizer in Sand aka Sable, French for "sand". I really love this tinted moisturizer because you get the benefits of UVB and UVA protection as well as skin that feels hydrated, not oily, all day long. This does have fragrance to it, which I quite like, but if you are extremely sensitive to scents, or just have extremely sensitive skin, you might opt for mixing your foundation with your skin specific moisturizer.
Prime the lids with a shadow base. I like to use MAC's Painterly if I'm using neutrals or matte shadow. It doesn't have any sparkles or shine and is cool beige color.

Starting with the outer part of the crease, apply The Balm's Meet Matt(e) in Matt Batali, a matte deep brown. Sweep the brush across the crease and down to the inner corner of the eye. Adding more shadow to the brush, apply a thick line from inner corner to the outter corner of the lashline, winged subtly upwards. Then, using the same shade, apply shadow to the lower lashline. The line will be slightly thick towards the outter corner of the eye. When applying the shadow towards the tear duct, taper from a thick line to a thin line by running the shadow up and through the lashes. Taking a clean blending brush, you are going to blend the shadow on the top lid, so that the entire lid is colored, with the emphasis being on the crease and lashline. The inner corner needs to be blended inward, towards the iris, to keep from achieving Panda bear eyes.
Using MAC's Kohl Pencil in Feline, line the water line, both top and bottom, stopping at tear duct.
Clean up any sharp edges to your shadow and then apply concealer and powder, if you're oily, to the T-zone. I like to take a little bit of my loose face powder and blend onto the brow bone, and taper towards the dark brown shadow. This gives a softer look for daytime.
The last work that will be done on the eyes will be mascara and brow gel. I am using Urban Decay Supercurl Mascara in black. Like Michelle in the video, I like to use the Matt Batali shadow for my brows, but if you aren't brunette that might look a little Groucho, so please do us all a favor, use a shade suited to your hair color. Please. Using the Chella brow gel that came in the Ipsy bag, groom brows so their is now loose powder attached, paying attention to the arch. To emphasize the arch, I like to brush up and then across, taming any stragglers.
For cheeks and lips, I like sheer colors for day time. I'm using Crew,a limited edition highlighting powder from MAC's Hey Sailor collection. This was the one piece of the collection that I REALLY wanted and have REALLY used the hell out of. It doesn't give lots of color, but it adds enough to give your skin a glow without adding a shimmer or pearly cast to the face. I run my brush through the palette and apply to cheekbones and temples. For lips, liner isn't going to be used, all we're doing is glossing up. Apply L'Oreal color Juice in Pina Colada to lips with a lip brush. I love this formula, but it is very thick, so a little goes a very long way.
Voila!
Taking this look from day to night is easy peasy!
Using The Eyeko felt tip liner, draw a line on the top only. Start at the inner corner and draw a thin line that gradually gets thicker towards the outter corner. You want to mirror the edge of where your shadow stops, so no wings that look like comma. Yeesh. in fact, unless you're Lady Gaga, don't do that. Ever.
Apply a translucent loose powder over the face. Yes, even OVER the highlighting powder. Just go with it. Using the bronzer from ELF's blush/bronzer duo, contour the face under the cheekbones and swirl the brush towards your ear. Contouring brushes are the best for this but if you don't have one handy, a small blush brush is fine, just be very light handed in application. Blend your contour with your powder blush. Contouring should give definition, if you blend correctly, there shouldn't be a bronze line on your face.
Taking a fluffy blush brush, apply the blush to the top of the cheekbones and to temples.
Remove the sheer nude gloss from the lips and with soft strokes, apply old faithful, Brandywine from Wet n Wild to the lips. Since we're using a gloss, I lightly fill in the lips with the pencil so the gloss has something to cling to. Bare Escentual's Marvelous Moxie gloss is a pretty rad treat to get in av Ipsy bag. This packs on the moisture and the shine while giving a fuller look to the lips. It does have that minty flavor and tingling that those volumizing glosses have, so if you don't like that, this is not for you. The color we got is called Daredevil, which the company describes as "a sparkling blackberry shade". It is very sheer for a gloss so a couple coats might be needed, or apply over a plum colored lipstick if you want a bolder lip.
Ta-da!
Lord, I am living for this look! Usually, I am more into a pearly or sparkly finish for the eyes, but this matte eye with glossy lips is gorgeous....if I do say so ;)
