Late Autumn Chic

For this late autumn look, I wanted something soft, classic and elegant that was universally flattering. This magazine cover of model Jasmine Guinness gave me my inspiration. Warm cheeks, rosy lip, neutral eyes with a black liquid liner is so simple, yet is a flawless choice if you are ever stuck for a makeup look to display on a night out or to work- or both!

Start with a clean face and with a foundation brush, apply foundation. We will be doing concealer AFTER eyes, so get some shadow brushes ready!

Start by applying MAC's painterly all over the lid to prime for shadow. Over the lid, start applying MAC's Woodwinked, blending up and into the crease. Be sure to not take the shadow up passed the brow bone.
Starting at the outer corner of the top lid, begin to draw a modified cat eye. I say "modified" because you want a slight wing, but not with a thick line and not taking the liner passed the center of the iris. You will start the wing with a medium thick line, tapering down to the lash line and when you get to the center of the eye, you'll want to have had the liner practically brushed into the lashes.
After you are finished with your liner, add concealer where necessary and set with powder. Using a small blush brush, dust MAC's Gingerly to your cheekbones, blending out to hairline and downwards, along the jawline. Gingerly is such a blah looking blush in the container, but is so flattering because it adds a warmth that is neither brown, coral or rosy, it's almost a blend of all of those colors together. This also can give the jawline a great contour. Just remember to blend as contouring can sometimes just look like you painted a rosy-brown line on your face.
Using Hard Candy's So Baked Bronzer in Tiki, add highlight by dusting on the temples, down the bridge of the nose, down to cupids bow and finishing on the chin. Take a clear eyeshadow brush and apply to the inner corners of the eye, sweeping up and over along the browbone and blend. You don't want to see the starting and stopping points between Tiki and Woodwinked, they should fade into one another.
Finish your eyes with a couple coats of Urban Decay's Supercurl Mascara. I like to start by applying to the top of the lashes, combing forward and then underneath top lashes, roll the brush upwards. This gives you length and volume!

Line the lips with Wet n Wilds Brandywine pencil. Using the lip pencil, softly fill in the lips. Rub your lips together and then apply EOS lipblam in Summer Fruit. For a day time look, this can be your stopping point. If you want the Full Monte, so to speak, apply Chanel's Glossimer in Spark. This is a gorgeous, sparkly, red wine color. You can sheer it out by only applying to the center of the lower lip with a lip brush if you want less sparkle but some extra color.

I always love posing for the final 'ta-da" picture and this one made me giggle. I was trying to get different shots from different angles to really see the color. The end result reminds me of the Brady Bunch :)
