I'm a broke, fabulous makeup artist but I don't allow the broke part to define myself or my skill. I truly believe that anyone who is a true makeup artist is open to trying new products, no matter if it's from a drugstore or a department store or from an infomercial. Not everything has been a hit, but when I find one that is, I want to tell the world and that's what I'm doing now....

I am going to be perfectly honest, I HATED these at first and wanted to return them. If you think you can apply these like a regular liquid lipstick and go, you will be very sadly mistaken. You can't just apply straight from the tube, you really have to wipe off the excess or else you will look like you put your lipstick on through a screen door...and not in a good way.
You also cannot rub your lips together or the lip color will ball up and dry in a very funky way.
You cannot apply a greasy lip salve before hand or again, balled up lips!
This is my technique for using these and it's worth doing, because applied the right way, these lip colors are bomb!
1. Start with clean, dry lips. Before applying the liquid lip color, I applied a thick layer of lip balm and used a baby toothbrush to lightly scrub away any dryness. After wards, I wiped off the excess with a dry wash cloth. This leaves the lips conditioned, but dry enough the lip color will go on nice and smooth.
2. If you aren't using a lip brush, wipe the excess lip color off and apply using just the tip of the applicator. I've tried it with and without a lip brush and both work fine, but you can get a more precise line from a brush.
3. Apply with a light hand. You'll see what I mean when you first get the color on. This is VERY pigmented and very concentrated so, again, lightly!
4. DO NOT RUB YOUR LIPS TOGETHER! DO NOT!!!
5. Wait until lip color is completely dry before applying any gloss on top. If you are applying a gloss, make sure it isn't an oil based gloss. This should be relatively obvious by just feeling the texture on your hand. If you still don't know, this is when Google is your friend. Google the specific brand and formula and you can get any info at your fingertips.
Yes even a two year old can use this. Look how smart my Koko is! Picking a pick that matches her ringer!
Anyway, love the formula and range of colors. I truly thought I'd be taking this business back, but I'm glad I worked with it. The thing is that at $2.99, you cannot go wrong. The color and coverage is on point and formula is better than MAC. It's such a steal, you owe it to yourself to figure out how it works. Don't give up! It took me a half hour to figure it out. A half hour. But I'd rather have bomb lips at a song than waste two hours of wages on something that is the same color and same idea but in better packaging. Suck it department store brands! I got 3 colors for $9.99! Whatchoo got????
