Hollywood Glam: Rihanna

Ah Rihanna! The beautiful, mischievous Barbados babe has looks that thrill and skin that is swoon worthy!
I wanted to do a quick but chic look that was more focused on lips and skin with a two tone liner!

Start with clean skin. I like to prep my skin with Ole Henricksen's Truth Serum and my lips with Dermstores Pink Lemonade lip treatment.
Using a stippling brush, lightly apply Dr. Jart's BB Cream all over face. This gives skin an even tone without being mask-y.
For eyes, using your finger tip, apply Benefits Creaseless Cream shadow in Bikini-ini from lid to brow. I love this shadow! It's one of the only cream shadows that absolutely does not crease but also acts as the perfect powder shadow base.

Using 2 eyeliners is the fun part and a great alternative to having to wear multiple shadows to get a unique eye.
Start by making the tradional 'cat eye' using Jordana's Fabuliner in Black. Pay attention to following the natural lash line, starting with the inner corner of the eye and moving to the outer corner, flicking up, gently at the edge.
Jordana makes some amazing liners for not a lot of dough. I love their roll up liner, In fact, the quality, pigment and the fact that they don't dry out as easily make this my favorite automatic (roll up) eye liner, hands down!
Instead of doubling up on the liquid/pen look, grab Jordana's Denim liner and trace above, exactly mirroring the original line. You want to blend lightly afterwards to make sure there is no separation in color between the deep navy and black liners.

Top lashes with Benefits They're Real mascara. I get me best lashes by combing the top of the lashes first and then applying  under and upwards. This mascara is a favorite because it gives buildable coverage but also the tip of the mascara brush is rounded with bristles that can latch on to the inner lashes and bring each individual lash out!
For the cheeks I wanted to use a tint to keep the skin looking luminous and fresh. The nail polish brush applicator of Benefits Benetint lip and cheek tint, makes it easy to apply the right amount in the right spot. After applying the Benetint to the cheek, use your middle finger to blend the tint into the skin. Stay on top of the cheekbone, blending out towards the hairline so that the color gently fades. You want it to look like a healthy flushed look as opposed to Matroyshka realness!

Milani's Baked Blush in Belissimo Bronze gives a touch of color to both eyes and cheeks. Use your finger tip and apply, VERY LIGHTLY, a bit of the blush just to the crease. Lightly tap the color on.
Taking a fluffy blush brush apply in a "C" shape outside of eye area and above half of the brow. Apply a slight amount on the outside portion if the cheek bone, connecting it to the "C".
To stretch my lip color, I like to apply the Benetint before lining the lips. For liner, I used Milani's Fuchsia lip liner. For lipstick I used Maybellines Vivids Fuchsia Flash. The first picture you see is with this lip look. Not only is this an exact dupe to MAC's Candy Yum Yum, but the moisture it delivers is the bomb! Maybelline lipstick have long been my favorite because of the color pay off and the creamy texture.
I like that over a lip balm, you can get a sheer version of this look seen in the photos at the bottom of this post.
If you tend to get oily, you can use a translucent shadow in the t-zone, but to keep the skins luminosity I applied Hard Candy's Baked Bronzer in Tiki. This isn't a true bronzer as it is more flesh tone with a golden hue. It is a perfect dupe for The Balm's Mary Lou-manizer and I like to use this as a powder on days I need a bit of perking  up the skin. I applied this to the forehead, bridge of the nose, above the cheekbones and center of the chin and along the jawline.
To complete the look, fill I'm brows with a powder brow liner. Benefits Brow-zing comes with two different shades in the compact, a small tweezer and brushes. This is great for any look as it looks softer and not so drawn on. It also is a perfect purse sized product with a mirror, for touch ups during the day.
Using another Benefit brow product, Gimme Brow, lightly brush the brows in place. This is great to use by itself too, if you only want a little color and shape and it's purse size too!!

I love the look of this! It's a nice switch up to the dramatic looks associated with fall. Keeping the skin and lips radiant and colorful is a great look if you have a cold or are full blown sick. This will make you look alive even if you feel like you're dying.
What is your favorite "skin" look? Dewy and luminous or matte and finished?
