Have you ever taken too long of a disco nap and only had a few minutes to get ready and get out the door for a red carpet event? Ever get have that one person who your heart pines for call you up for a last minute date? Me either, but I am used to sleeping through an alarm and have switched shifts with a sick coworker and had to work an event at the last minute.
I'm here to say: you can get glam, or if the lights are low enough, fierce in 5 minutes!
Here is what you'll need: Hard Candy's Glow Away, Cailyn's Tinted Lip Balm in Big Apple, L'oreal's Voluminous Extra Volume Collagen Mascara, Be A Bombshell's eyeshadow in Bright Eye's, a fluffy shadow brush, Benefit's Creaseless Cream Shadow in Bikini-Tini and Be A Bombshell's felt tip liner in Onyx.
After washing your face and moisturizing, apply the cream shadow from lid to brow using your ring finger tip. The warmth of your fingertip will help blend your shadow quickly and evenly.
Using a fluffy shadow brush, apply the golden powder shadow all over lid and into crease.
The biggest time burglar's for me are and always will be: liner and mascara.
For more of a glam look, a felt tip liner with a slight wing is simple to use and looks polished and chic.
To complete the perfect bright eyed look, use a volumizing mascara. The reason this step always takes a bit longer is that I comb out the top of the lashes first, then roll the brush under lashes, curling upwards. For lower lashes, apply a light coat of mascara.
One of the most underrated product is Hard Candy's Glow Away. It's a dual ended highlighter and bronzer in one. The highlighter works great to brighten the undereyes and the bronzer has a nice sheen that gives warmth to cheeks.
For lips, nothing says glam like red lips and Cailyn's Tinted Lip Balm in Big Apple delivers! I am in love with this product! It has a lip brush in its handle, genius!!!!! The color payoff is brilliant, more of a lipstick than a balm. I love the texture too. It feels light like a balm, that's why I'm so shocked by the amazing color.
The brush that is inside the handle is perfect for lining the lips with, but also gives great coverage!!!
Now that I have a few seconds to primp before the clock strikes, here's another little tip, especially if you have long hair and need a quick style minus heating tools.
Before I applied makeup, I brushed my dry hair, sprayed on Alterna's Bamboo Boho Waves styling spray, root to tip. Then twisted the hair up into a tight bun. It doesn't need to be neat and pretty, so please don't waste time fussing over getting the perfect bun.
After the makeup is on and the mad scramble to get dressed is over, take your hair down and run your fingers lightly through, just to style.
I usually save taking the bun down and the styling step for the car ride over. It's handy to make sure your purse has extras that you may need for an extra touch. I always keep Macadamia Healing Hair Oil in a cosmetic bag. This is get to use on dry ends and I like to put some on my hands before I run my fingers through my hair. You get lots of shine without looking like Ellen Greaseball (gold star if you catch the reference). Even better? It actually heals and brings life back to color treated or dry and damaged hair. Like Spanx are to thighs and butt, Macadamia Healing Oil can hide a multitude of sins ;)
There you have it. I was made up in 4 minutes and 50 seconds, dressed in less than 3 minutes and was out the door in 10 minutes. It can be done!
