Serving up old Hollywood realness! Today I am using products I got in my MyGlam bag and Birchbox, both services living on borrowed time, but thats for another blog.
Start with freshly cleansed and hydrated skin. Right now I'm using Alba Botanicals Even Advanced Sea Plus Renewal Cream. It's just ok. Yeah. Just ok. But whatever, moisturize the skin and eye area, separate products please. For eyes I'm using Chanel's Ultra Correction Line Repair. This I love with big, hearts with angel feathers! Yes!!!
Start off with by priming your lid with Milk the jumbo pencil from Nyx. I start from the inner corner, blend across lashline and highlight brow bone. Blend with your fingertips.
Using Nyx's pigment in Charcoal, pat into the crease towards the inner corner but stopping a fingertips width from the inner corner. Start tapping onto the lashline. Using a blending brush blend the pigment on the lid and take to the outer corner. You'll want the outer corner to be sharp, like a "V". See the lower left photo above!
Using the same brush you used to apply the pigment, smudge on the lower lash line.
Using the upper left pic as a guide, make sure the charcoal pigment is blended so that the darkest portion is on the outer corner and crease. Its going to be a sharp "V" on the corner, moving into an arched crease. Blend the Milk pencil on the browbone so that is fades into the crease.
Using the Juice Beauty CC cream, dot wherever you need coverage and blend out with your fingertips. With most tinted moisturizers or BB creams or CC creams, I find that the warmth of your fingertips are enough to really capture that clean, bright look.
I only am using the very slightest concealer today. ELF is the concealer of choice for today. I'm really liking the ELF concealer more so than the Maybelline. It doesn't come close to my beloved Camouflage Cream from Prescriptives, but I'm trying out lower cost alternatives. For low cost, ELF ain't bad.
Set face with powder. I am still loving my Palladio rice powder! This is the shizz. I got mine at Sally's beauty supply but you ma have better luck online.
Going back up to the eyes, Im using my beloved Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero. Line the top, stopping at center iris and wing out the edge slightly. On the bottom, we're only going to line the water liner. After lining the water line, press lids together, this will transfer to the top water line.
For blush I applied The Balm's Hot Mama to the apples of my cheeks. This is a similar color to Orgasm by Nars, but with a hint more of pink. Contouring isn't necessary but I like a little bit of Wet n Wild's Bikini Contest. It gives a gentle glow to the cheeks.
For lips is a sheer wash of red gloss. For this look I used Be A Bombshells Hot Mess. Yeah, nice name. I resemble that remark ;)
For lashes, apply 3 coats, yes 3 coats, of Cliniques Lash Doubling Mascara in black to top and bottom lashes.
For brows I used my Chanel Brow Pencil in Auburn. Lightly filling in and highlighting the arch. The brows for these ladies are a bit thicker, but just fill in the brows slightly, otherwise you'll look Groucho-esque.
For a little extra sparkle I used highlighting papers from Mai Couture in St. Barts. These are just for fun, I can't see myself purchasing them, but they are pretty cool to have as a backup in your bag if you don't want to deal with a clunky highlighter rolling around.
Voila!
Thanks for reading today's blog! Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been battling a nasty staph infection and feel less than beautiful!
Stay tuned for gripes and groans on beauty subscription services....
instead of The Juice's CC Cream
